athlete will be able to advance unless he/she is a current registered member of
the AAU. All coaches must hold a current
membership in the AAU. AAU membership
number must be included on the attached form at the time of registration. AAU
membership can be obtained online at: www.aausports.org.

*Athletes
who are still eighteen (18) years of age through the final day of the National
Cross Country Meet shall be eligible to compete in the Young Men’s and Young
Women’s division.
INDIVIDUAL QUALIFICATION & ADVANCEMENT
Ø
Qualification for the
National Championship requires advancement through an AAU Association Cross
Country meet. The top twenty (20)
from the Association Meet in each age division qualify for the National
Championships on
Ø
When determining the
qualifiers for the National Championships, team runners who finish on the
first, second, or third place teams are discounted
when determining the 20 individual
qualifiers.
Ø
All members of the top
three teams will qualify for the National Championships, regardless of place.
Ø
Competitors must compete in
their own age divisions only
TEAM ELIGIBILITY & ADVANCEMENT
Ø
Participation of Cross Country
teams shall be limited to those clubs which hold current valid membership in
the Maryland Association of the Amateur Athletic Union. All members of the team must be members of
the club they represent. Athletes must compete in their Association Cross Country
Championship.
Ø
A maximum of three club
teams per division may advance from the Association Cross Country Championships
to the National Championships. Teams can consist of 5-8 runners.

Medals and ribbons awarded
to top 20 finishers in each age division.
